Black church ushers5/2/2024 The usher serves as a “first representative” of Jesus Christ for a worship service. Although an usher’s love is no stronger than the love found in the whole congregation of the body of Christ, nevertheless the usher performs a major role in ensuring that people see and experience that love.Īn usher is a spiritual ambassador for the local church – God’s ordained and organized body of believers. In Christ, you have received God’s unconditional love, and, in Christ, you are called to extend that same unconditional love to others. The ministry of ushering is a crucial part of worship because it is one of the most visible ministries in the Church. In most cases, they provide the first impressions of church and ministry of the pastor. Each usher has the opportunity to impact the lives of new and existing people in the church and should be viewed as an extension of the pastor’s hand. The definition of an usher means door keeper but in truth, our churches greatly depend on diversity and magnitude of the many services ushers provide.
